Black Sun Studios was born from a singular obsession — the dark, the mythic, and the beautifully strange.
Founded by Darren Morton, Black Sun Studios is an independent UK creative studio dedicated to building original fantasy worlds through storytelling, collectible artefacts, character busts, and handcrafted creations.
At the heart of everything we create lies a growing universe known as The Black Sun Chronicles — an unfolding mystery of forgotten civilizations, ancient relics, lost kingdoms, and the shadow of an ancient force known only as the Black Sun.
The Black Sun Chronicles
What began as a simple story has grown into an expanding fantasy universe.
The Black Sun Chronicles follows Elias Voss as he searches for his missing father and uncovers secrets buried beneath Hollow Peak. Each Field Log reveals another fragment of a larger mystery involving ancient relics, the Five Lords, and the awakening of Nytherion.
New stories, characters, locations, and artefacts continue to expand the world with every chapter.
For us, storytelling is not separate from the creations we make.
It is the foundation of everything.

Our process combines modern 3D printing technology with traditional craftsmanship. Every model is carefully prepared, refined, and painted to bring character, atmosphere, and life to the final piece.

Design — Every character, relic, and collectible begins as a concept shaped by story, lore, and atmosphere.
3D Printing — High-resolution printing captures every detail, from ancient runes and weathered stone to armour, weapons, and mythical creatures.
Hand Finishing — Each piece is cleaned, refined, and prepared by hand to ensure the highest possible quality.
Hand Painting — Using layered painting techniques, every creation is given depth, shadow, colour, and personality.

Black Sun Studios is an independent passion project created and developed by Darren Morton.
From writing the Chronicles and designing the universe to printing, painting, photography, video production, website design, and product development, every aspect of the project is created by hand.
